The Day We Went Up The Mountain (and came back down again)

I Climbed Pen-Y-Fan once in the 8 years we have been here, with Trixie of course. It was a warm September day. We drove up Ffwrdgrech road to the Cwm Gwdi car park and set off from there (Hey if the army can do it…)

Well Trixie was an absolute champion. Bearing in mind that she is clinically blind, She ran up the slope like a little mountain goat, even scrambling over the finally rocky bits with almost no help from overprotective me.

I had a little cry at the summit when I realised we’d have to walk all the way back down again, but Trixie was raring to go, she allowed me a ten minute break.

The views were even more spectacular on the way down.

It really was an unforgettable experience.
